Last week I relapsed and went on a bender…

…The kind of bender the online “gurus” say will destroy your life…

But you and I know those gurus are dumb.

Because

This bender was freaking awesome.

In fact, the bender gave me a follower to fan conversion trick from heaven.

What’s the trick? I’ll get there in a minute…

First let me explain the bender…

Was it alcohol? Angel dust? Special K?

Nope.

Youtube.

So now that we cleared the air on the bender. I’ll tell you the follower to fan conversion trick…

..And show you how to get people to throw money at you……

…It all started on Youtube, I came across “The Rise and Fall of Dane Cook” If you don’t know who Dane Cook is…

I’ll explain…

…Dane ruled the comedy scene in the 2000s. Dane was everywhere. He fell off because he got some weird plastic surgery and stole other comedians’ jokes…

But that’s not the point.

The point is that Dane went from a nobody to selling out arenas in 4 short years. Side note: it usually takes comedians over 10 years to achieve fame (if they’re lucky)…

Anyway…

How did Dane get this fast rise to fame?

It’s his follower to fan trick.

Dane got on Myspace which was the epicenter of attention online in the 2000s. And every night after work Dane would contact EVERY SINGLE new follower.

Connecting personally with every single fan seems beneficial, right? But here’s the catch. If you get this wrong you risk seeming inauthentic

…which could destroy your entire following.

Here’s what Dane did differently:

Dane would say: “Hey, I saw it was your birthday so happy birthday” or “congrats on the graduation”…

Anything to be personable and show that he cared.

What happened next?

Dane would send 1000s of these messages every night. Until he had millions of followers. Fast forward and Dane began selling out arenas. The tickets were bought by his hardcore fanbase on Myspace…

Do you connect with your followers on a personal level or just count likes and comments?

Here’s the fix:

Do the unscalable things. And do them for a long time.

I used to send loom videos to my new followers. And I stopped. That’s a big mistake.

Connect with every single person you can. Show value. Ask how you can help. And expect nothing in return.

Do this for a few years and watch the magic happen.

Peace out,

Parker
